Program
The sponsorship and performance of in-house research is a vital part
of CMS
overall operations. CMS has undertaken research projects in subjects
ranging from the
adequacy and quality of U.S. immigration data
for policy analysis and evaluation,
the adaptation problems of migrant
groups in their new environment, the
ethnic factor and future
inequality, and illegal immigration; the historical
role of churches on migration;
housing needs for new immigrants; social and
labor market incorporation
of undocumented aliens in New York; international
migration of the highly
qualified; migration and world politics; U.S.
international refugee policy;
and nonimmigrant visa strategies.
Currently, CMS networks with thousands of researchers,
agencies and government
officials worldwide.
